CEC School Design Projects

During the time as the Interior Design Manager for the City of Edinburgh Council our Design Director Karen Ramsay Bell developed and delivered inspiring learning spaces with the C&F team, head teachers and business managers in various schools across the estate that break from the traditional 33 desk and chairs didactic classrooms to form new exciting learning spaces that created a space for everyone to suit the learning style, learners needs and the new methods of teaching being delivered in Edinburgh.

The high levels of pupils on the autistic spectrum in the main stream schools were the main driving force behind the changes to ensure that they and all other pupils felt comfortable and would be open to learning.

For further reading on the schools designed by Karen at Edinburgh please see the links below to St Johns and many others along with a lovely video that Scottish Futures Trust made in relation to the new space Karen designed at Trinity.
